Dr Peter Baur – Economist holds a Ph.D degree in Economics from the University of Johannesburg. He has also completed two Masters’ degree (in finance and economics – cum laude). During his studies, he received numerous awards for academic excellence.
Several of his research projects have been published in academic journals and he is co-author of two academic textbooks on economics. Peter’s research has been diversified, ranging from the economics of art to alternative energy and the modelling of energy resource conflict. Book through Conference Speakers.

He is a regular commentator on topical macroeconomic issues (in the national media) and has presented research papers at various local and international conferences, including Italy and France.

Teacher training and the development of small scale farming in urban centres
Mitigation against unethical business practices (for the Ethics Institute of SA)

Dr Peter Baur – Economist has lectured extensively on economics at various institutions, including the University of KwaZulu/Natal, the Centre for Local Economic Development; Milpark Business School; and First National Bank Training Centre. He is currently a senior lecturer at The University of Johannesburg, where he has been teaching since 2005.

Peter’s other interests include aviation (private pilot license), yachting, environmental protection and youth skills development. He is a member of the Red Cross Association and the Boy Scouts Association.
