Barry Hilton – Conference Comedian Every good comedian knows that timing is everything – and with Barry Hilton that goes way beyond the punchline.

Not only is Barry one of the funniest comics around, he’s also one of the most professional, personable and punctual. Book through Conference Speakers

He adds comic class to corporate events as the headline act or the MC, with a repartee that’s intelligent, observational, impeccably timed and never crude, sexist or racist. Just enormously funny, with a delightful knack of finding the ludicrous and the humorous in daily situations to make us laugh at life.

This old-school comedian is as streetwise as any youngster and remains at the top by continually writing fresh material.

Barry is a South African globetrotter, and the first South African to headline four shows at the prestigious Harrah’s Improv at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.

This year he will open the Hong Kong 2014 Comedy Festival, building on a career that’s seen him fill 4,000-seat auditoriums with his solo shows and delight the notoriously tough crowds at London’s Clapham Grand. Follow Conference Speakers on Twitter

His global track record highlights Barry’s ability to cut through all boundaries and appeal to any nationality, race or age.

His gregarious personality makes him a people’s person, happy to engage with the audience before and after his shows.

In June 2013 he was invited back to Live at Parkers and again filmed for Comedy Central with the top rated headlining acts from the past season.

In July Hilton received the Comics Choice Lifetime Achiever Award.

Winners of the prestigious awards are voted by fellow artists and receive a “Waldo” statuette of which only 6 are made each year, however only the “Lifetime Achiever” recipient receives the ring called the “Charles” named after Charlie Chaplain and are ‘honoured’ at a special grilling at Parker’s a few weeks before the formal awards ceremony.

Zimbabwean born Hilton qualified for a nomination in 2014’s Zim awards for the Personality of the year award. Other nominees included John Vlismas, Getmore Sithole, Melgin Tafirenyika and Leroy Gopal. Hilton won, and was at the prestigious ceremony in Johannesburg to collect his award.

In 2015 The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International named Hilton a Paul Harris Fellow in appreciation for assisting in the better understanding and friendly relations among peoples of the world.

In 2013 his industry peers paid tribute to Barry by presenting him with A Lifetime Achiever Award in South Africa’s Annual Comics’ Choice Awards.
