Can’t control future plan-Motivate Inspire

I hope your Easter weekend was filled with happiness, family and renewal. Mine was simply and positively lovely as you Can’t control future plan-Motivate Inspire.

Holidays like Easter and Christmas often give us a “pause” moment…allowing us to look at our life and what we have, sort of in slow motion.

And I am grateful and most days content with my life. I don’t have a solid idea of what the future holds but I am blessed to have my life.

Still it doesn’t change the fact that our beautiful country is gripped by political and economic maelstrom. And judging from all the hashtags and social media engagements, most of us are having a hard time being grateful at this time.

We can’t help and wonder what the hell is going on. And today, more than ever, it seems there are valid reasons to worry. The political and economic troubles affect us all, in addition to whatever other personal struggles we or those dear to us face. See list of Speakers through Conference Speakers

And during these times, we’re reminded daily that our faith and hard work doesn’t spare us from the ever increasing costs in everyday life, insecurity in the workforce, security of the country, and the increasing crime rate.

And in these challenging times, money worries are never far from our minds.

Now, I won’t deny the difficulties of going through loss and experiencing financial strains and demands. It’s hard. And the thought of going through that because of external factors is kinda annoying really.

So I had to learn to shift my mind and focus on the good things I have going on for me – regardless of where I am in life and press through with gratitude for the good things daily.

Certainly, negativity still creeps up sometimes, but I fight through to get there.

So I thought about what all this means and below are a couple of those thoughts I wanted to share with you:

– We all worry. Worrying is a complete normal human emotion.  However, extensive worry is a waste of energy and time and is very unhealthy. And you always have a choice. No matter what situation you are in, you have a choice. No matter how bad things are, you have a choice. No matter what you think you can or cannot do, you have a choice. You always have a choice.

– The future is the most uncertain thing about our lives! No one has the power to forecast the future or to control it. We never know anything short of what we can see with our own two eyes today. So when we try to control something that’s so unpredictable, we end up being very dissapointed. Of course, we can still take necessary precautions (like getting financial education and investing our money sensibly). So the best thing is to learn to embrace this uncertainty and thrive in it. We can’t control the future, but we can plan for it.

–  Life is hard. Sometimes very hard and it often throws obstacles in our way. Such is life. You can’t run away from that. Still, accepting that life is hard does not mean that you accept every circumstance and simply go with the flow.  Accepting that life is hard comes with accepting that you have the responsibility to make it better. Not only do you have the responsibility to make it better, you have the ability and the power to make it better. As the now cliché saying goes: “If life hands you lemons, make lemonade.”

–  Exercise gratitude. There’s so much going on in the “background” that we don’t see the good in our lives because we’re not conscious of it. We’ve had it good for so long that we assume that life will will always be like that. Then something, more precisely the bad happens, and life takes a turn, then we start missing the good that we had when it is gone. So what I learned is that the tough times help us to regain the consciousness of the things in life we have become so accustomed to and to see the value in everything and less likely to take things for granted.

And finally, you can change certain things in your life by fighting your worry with action! And since you can’t control the future, let go of the belief that you can, be okay with the uncertainty, and live your life and with each experience you gain, you learn.

Remember, the future, whatever it is, will take care of itself, only if you make the most of it today. Follow CSI on Twitter
