Chester Williams – Rugby Legend

“I have been very fortunate in my life. I started from humble beginnings and have never forgotten the challenges I faced as a young person and as a rugby player overcoming the obstacles to become the first black Springbok in the “new” South Africa. My Foundation is my opportunity to “pay it forward”. What better way to give back than to help young people who are just beginning the journey? As our team takes our Foundation to a higher level of quality, impact, organisation, and value, we want each of our supporters to know just how special, valued and profound your contributions are. You are vital to the continued expansion of our mission to positively transform the quality of children and people’s lives.” – Chester Williams

The Chester Williams Foundation goals are to support:

• Disadvantaged children
• Education for children
• Leadership skills for children
• Health for children
• Rugby development and mentorship for young people

It’s all about creating opportunities

The mission of the Chester Williams Foundation is to work with our community to expand opportunities for young people to learn, thrive, and succeed.

We believe that talent is universal, but understand that opportunity is not. Children in low-income communities experience an opportunity gap – they consistently have less enriching opportunities outside the school day than children from wealthier families. To eliminate this gap, the goal of the Chester Williams Foundation is to facilitate, lead and partner with corporates and individuals to create meaningful opportunities for children to learn, succeed, and thrive.
