Brumilda Van Rensburg
Brümilda van Rensburg’s stage and film career spans over a period of 30 years, during which she has performed leading roles in plays of renowned international dramatists and directors totaling over 70 productions - favorites MACBETH, MERCHANT OF VENICE, STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE and ANTIGONI. Brumilda van Rensburg played opposite PETER FONDA in the film Freedom Fighters and for the last 18 years she has been Louwna Edwards in M-NETs soap-opera EGOLI.
Brumilda van Rensburg graduated her honors degree from the University of Pretoria cum laude, winning 2 awards for Best Drama Student. Brümilda has also established a reputation as an outstanding actress overseas -she played OM GOODBYE TE SE in London to standing ovations and in 2009 she starred in an international feature film The Power of Three shot in London as one of the three leads.
The list is endless - praise for Brümilda van Rensburg is constant because she is one of South Africa's multi award winning actresses and most loved personalities. She has her own Drama Academy and Acting Agency. She hosted her own radio talk show, has directed television documentaries for the SABC and has produced plays for the arts festivals. Not surprisingly Brümilda van Rensburg received The Prestige- award from Rapport and the most stylish actress award from U magazine! She was also honored with the Golden Entertainer Spotlight Award from Mr Video, Nu Metro and Ster Kinekor.
