Basetsana Kumalo
Basetsana Kumalo entered the limelight in 1990 when she was crowned Miss Soweto and Miss Black South Africa. Basetsana’s television career began in 1990. After school, she completed her BA Ed. degree and in 1994 National and International recognition came her way when she was crowned Miss South Africa. In the same year, Basetsana was First Runner-up in the Miss World Pageant. Later that year Bassetsana received an honorary scholarship from the President of South Africa, Dr. Nelson Mandela, to pursue her studies overseas.
With Patience Stevens, Basetsana started her own television production company, Tswelopele Productions, which produces the show, "Top Billing". As an MC, she hosted Musiekantestadl, which was televised live to over two hundred million people; the Kora All Africa Music Awards, (the equivalent of the Grammies in America), which was broadcast live to over half a billion people across Africa and Europe, for three consecutive years and The Loeries, for two years in succession.
Basetsana Kumalo has graced the covers of numerous well-known glossy SA magazines including Cosmopolitan, Drum, Tribute, Ebony and True Love to name a few .In her spare time, she loves travel and golf, and is a Motivational Speaker.
