We know that South Africa has a mass of speaking talent, but there is a huge vacuum in current system between potential speakers and professional agents. Agents are always looking for new talent, but when the new talent comes along, they can’t take them onto their books until they have physically seen them in action and can confirm to potential clients that they have the knowledge, expertise and experience to satisfy their requirements for a speaker. It’s the age old problem, how does someone with talent but no experience, get a job to show their talent if they are an unknown entity, it’s a catch 22 situation. “Like any other profession, it is our responsibility to create a development program in the professional speaking industry, that allows for young, up and coming talent to come through the ranks and get the opportunity to succeed in our industry” says Lynn Baker of Eloquence Speaker Consultants”. It therefore makes perfect sense for Eloquence Speaker Consultants, a company who specialises in coaching executives and speakers on the development and delivery of professional presentations, to link up with Conference Speakers International, one of South Africa’s leading speaker’s agents, to create a forum whereby new talent has the opportunity to show themselves and get onto the professional speaking circuit. Eloquence and Conference Speakers International will be hosting a seminar on the 8th October 2010 at the Focus Rooms in Sunninghill where potential speakers will get to hear first hand, exactly what professional speaker agents and their clients are looking for in a speaker. Thereafter, they will be given the opportunity to deliver a 10 minute presentation as an audition to 5 judges, all of whom are from the professional speaking industry. Successful candidates will be offered the opportunity to be coached by Lynn Baker and thereafter, will be given a two year exclusive contract with Conference Speakers International.
