Tumisho Masha is an accomplished entertainer, scriptwriter and entrepreneur. After completing his honours in BA Drama at Wits University, he started his career in the arts as an actor in theatre productions. A stint as a video jock for the youth music channel “Channel ‘O’” soon followed. He has proved himself as a capable and talented performer by winning at the SAFTA’s Awards 2012 as best male actor in a soap. He is in all media and all genres as an actor, as a voice artist, a television presenter, radio dj, MC, television show host and motivational speaker.
Tumisho’s latest leading role is as Modise Tladi on “The Wild” MNET’s latest daily drama. He is still remembered as Dumisani Thusong from SABC 3’s “Isidingo” and as a presenter on “TOP BILLING” South Africa’s premiere lifestyle magazine show which he starred on from 2004 to 2009. He hosted the 12th annual South African Music Awards (SAMAS) for the second consecutive year in 2006. In 2008 he hosted the Miss World beauty pageant that was broadcast worldwide. His film and television credits as an actor include international hits such as “Beyond Borders”, “Drum” and “Catch a Fire”. His latest international work being the hit British TV film “Kidnap and Ransom”, the popular BBC drama “Silent Witness”, Emmy award winning HBO series “No.1 Ladies Detective Agency” as well as the hip social awareness film “Shuga – Staying Alive” on MTV.
He regularly appears in the press on television, radio, in magazines and newspapers. Tumisho is considered a style icon after being voted SA’s most stylish media personality in the SA style awards and SA’s most stylish actor by readers of YOU magazine for 2005. He has also been voted as GQ’s top ten best dressed men in South Africa. His eye for style has seen him join SA fashion house Artistic Soul as head of strategy and marketing.
Tumisho is currently a director of Masha Media and Entertainment an events, film and television production company.
