Thembisa Mdoda - Conference MCThembisa Mdoda – Conference MC was born in the Eastern Cape and raised in Johannesburg. While many people might know her as the charming presenter on “Our Perfect Wedding”, this multitalented thespian has a string of accolades under her belt. Her passion for TV started when she enrolled for a BA in drama at Wits University.

She holds three degrees; Graphic design, Media Studies and Journalism, as well as Honours in Dramatic Arts from Wits University. Book through Conference Speakers

Thembisa fast became a household name when she presented “Our Perfect Wedding”, the popular show on Mzanzi Magic. Her natural and charming presenting skills endeared her to the viewers with many of them declaring her a “national key point”. This resulted in her winning the Ultimate Viewers Choice Awards and Best TV Presenter Award for the Mzansi Choice awards in 2017. Thembisa is also a recipient of the coveted SAFTA award for best TV presenter.

Thembisa’s talent as an entertainer means she is able to step into any role and bring a character to life that had previously only existed on paper. Her recently launched film, Baby Mamas showcases her versatility as a performer and actress. Apart from Baby Mamas, she has starred in films like Through Her Eyes, Game On and Mzansi Love. Her previous work on television include the telenovela – The Road, the Series Unmarried, Vukani and Ses’Top La. She has also showcased her art form as a thespian in many theatre roles such as Vagina Monologues, Brer Rabbit and Crocodile Tears.

 

She currently hosts the Weekend Breakfast Show on the national radio station, Metro FM. This means that millions of listeners wake up to her engaging and charismatic personality every weekend.

Thembisa can be credited for talent, style and beauty. She recently won the Style Awards in 2017 for Most Stylish Performing Artist in Film or TV.

 

She has graced various glossy South African magazine covers, including Essays, Bona and True Love. Her True Love cover was so popular with the readers that it resulted in an increase in sales of 10.54% (ABC figures), which makes the cover the most popular in the first half of 2018.

 

Her philosophy in life is rooted in the Xhosa saying: “intaka yakha ngoboya benye” (a bird builds its nest with the feathers of another), which simply means people need to help and uplift each other. This woman of substance is involved in many charities that are aimed at empowering communities,

especially the girl child. She recently participated in the Heads Up campaign, a project that makes head wraps for cancer female patients undergoing chemotherapy and radiation. She also supports the Sun International Indwangu Fashion Extravanganza, which is a CSI project that is  aimed at raising money for girls who do not have sanitary towels. Thembisa also sits on the board of Ambassadors Youth and Community Development (AYCD).

 

Thembisa Mdoda – Conference MC has been an MC at many events – ranging from corporate to big events. Her social media following is impressive, with Instagram at 491k followers and Twitter at 211.5k.
